- ... was doing research in New Zealand for the summer of 2007 - that was a lot of fun! She finished up her B.S. in Computer Science in May 2008, and she moved to Boston later that year to start her PhD in Bioinformatics. By the way, in case words you don't know yet show up in this blog... they are probably German. I'll try to make this a bilingual blog (so that my German relatives and friends can read it as well).

Lina hatte viel Spaß beim Forschen in Neuseeland im Sommer 2007!
Inzwischen hat sie ihren Bachelor in Informatik abgeschlossen (Mai 2008) und ist weiter nach Boston, Massachusetts, gezogen, um ihren Doktor in Bioinformatik zu machen. Ja, das stimmt; in den USA braucht man den Master inzwischen nicht mehr, da kann man gleich vom Bachelor zum Doktor (PhD) gehen. Allerdings dauert dieser Studienweg im Durschnitt auch ein bisschen länger (so etwa vier bis fünf Jahre sind durchaus normal).
Ich hoffe dass ich es durchhalte, dieses Blog zweisprachig zu schreiben (damit alle meine Freunde und Verwandten es lesen können).
