Day 27

There is a tiny toy store in the middle of (relatively) tall buildings on Harvard St in Brookline. You can't miss it, though, as the entire store front is painted a vibrantly red color. I've gone in once - they sell all sorts of random toys. Most of them look older and the colors are fading away; think paper cut-out dolls for the girls and wooden toy pistols for the boys. For this shot, I used a wide-angle lens. It came with the camera and I haven't used it much yet (as you can tell!). I also should have thought to bring a tripod along (a little camera-shake going on!) but of course you never think of these things till *after* you leave the house. I do like the effects wide angle lenses create, so I'll start practicing =)

In der Harvard St in Brookline gibt es einen kleinen Spielzeugladen, versteckt zwischen (relativ) großen Häusern. Man kann es allerdings nicht verpassen, weil die gesamte Ladenfassade knallrot gestrichen ist. Ich bin da einmal reingegangen - der Laden verkauft die komischsten Spielsachen! Die meisten sehen etwas älter aus, mit verblassenden Farben. Für Mädchen findet man hier Ausschneidepuppen, und für die Jungs gibt es hölzerne Spielzeugpistolen. Für dieses Foto habe ich ein Weitwinkelobjektiv benutzt. Das gehört zur Kamera, und ich hab es bis jetzt noch nicht viel benutzt (wie man vielleicht sehen kann). Im Nachhinein hätte ich ein Stativ mitbringen sollen (das Bild ist etwas verwackelt!) aber natürlich fällt einem sowas immer hinterher ein :) Ich mag die Weitwinkelperspektive, und werde ab jetzt auf jeden Fall mehr damit üben =)
